Spring Roses

Spring Roses

Today I painted my nan's nails,
and finally remembered to take some pictures!

She has really long nails, but a few of them broke recently.

Like how they turned out, sorry the pictures are a bit sketchy!

My nan has always let me try out designs on her hands!
Ever since my first attempt!
So glad I finally got some pictures.

Burlesque nails

Burlesque nails

I painted my friends nails! But, she's a nail biter,
so we bought some fake ones that I painted!

I was really pleased with the silhouette girls!

She was going to a burlesque themed party,
hence the black, red and lacy motifs.

Flowers!

Flowers!

I saw a picture of floral nails that I loved a few weeks ago.
I had to have a go at recreating them!

I love how they turned out!

My mum then suggested I matted them!
And I am glad i listened.

Will definitely have to wear this again in the summer!
But maybe with brighter colours, and add some more shades of green to brighten up the leaves!

Trip to London

Trip to London

I got back from London yesterday evening, after seeing my gorgeous cousin!
I really wanted to do a geometric blue manicure, and ended up with this.
I did another galaxy nails, as frankly i was a little jealous of my mums!

This mani took waay longer than i wanted, mostly due to my cat nudging me!

As per, most of the colours are Barry M.

My fingers are really red in this picture, I had just been outside where it was snowing!

Galaxy Nails

Galaxy Nails

I painted my mums nails today!
I wanted to attempt a galaxy design, and I think it worked really well!

I used a black base and then a series of Barry M shades of blue,
a white and silver by the Natural collection

It's not too obvious in the pictures,
but there's glitter over the white parts.

I really like how these turned out and only took around 15 minutes!

Matte Nails!

Matte Nails!

I bought some Essie matte nail varnish!
It's really effective and doesn't feel at all chalky like I feared.

I've been wanting to use matte nail varnish ever since I first saw a
picture of some and managed to find some today in boots.

I wanted to play around with matte and non matte of the
same colour. I love how it turned out.

The contrast didn't really show up properly without the flash,
which is why the next few are really overly bright!

The lines on my index finger aren't the straightest...
(You can blame my cat for that!)

Although it was pretty expensive (£8.99!) I really love the matte effect!
And will be using it a lot more!

A polished trip to Birmingham!

A polished trip to Birmingham!

This week I am visiting my friend Sarah who's at uni here.
We based her nails around the beautiful dress she will soon be wearing to a masquerade ball.

We wanted to try 10 different designs so she
could choose her favourite for the day of the ball.

I had a go at recreating the flower from Tangled on her left middle finger.

Our favourite design is the lacy pattern on her right ring finger,
as it matched the mask perfectly!

And here's a picture of the dress!

Which design do you think she should wear?

Love it

Love it

I have lots of love heart nails that I never got round to posting!
First off, my wonderful dad gave me these beautiful flowers for valentines!
He's done it ever since I was little and I always feel like the luckiest girl alive!!

Anyway, back to the nails!

Kept it really simple, pretty pink glitter and a statement nail

This next design I saw somewhere but can not remember where...

I've never done nail shaping before,
but love how it looks! Isn't all too practical though..

Again went back to pretty pink and sparkles!

Hope you all had a lovely day!

Since starting this blog I've gotten soo much positive feedback, thank you! I love hearing from you, don't be shy to leave a comment. I think you only have to have a google mail account!

Roses are red...

Roses are red...

Roses are red
Violets are Blue
I paint my nails
Because I love to!

Had to do some valentiney nails!
Really simple but busy design!

Was going to attempt some Shrove Tuesday themed nails,
but not sure a pancake would translate well onto a nail...

I used pretty much solely Barry M, really like the consistency and range of colours!

Happy 70th Nan!

Happy 70th Nan!

On Saturday, it was my Nan and Tracy's birthday party!
It was fantastic seeing friends and family and having a dance.

The picture quality varies quite a lot on this post so I apologise!

I themed my nails around my dress, going with a turquoise and metallic theme. I saw a picture a while ago of a chain French manicure and decided to test it out!
I didn't have much time to paint my nails, so they are a tad 'rough around the edges'!

The beads on my thumb are some spares from my dress!

I also painted my Nans nails, but I forgot to take a photo! She's coming round tomorrow, if she's still wearing them I'll put them up :)

Here's me and the birthday girl! :)
The photo isn't very good quality but its the only one of the two of us I can find!

It was such a lovely party!

Me and my mum wearing our new dresses!

Candy Caviar nails!

Candy Caviar nails!

I've been wanting to do a caviar manicure for a long time! But they always look like as soon as they're put on they'll start to fall off.
But on Tuesday I bought the beads from Claire's accessories!

Once I followed the instructions given on the packet
(which is to paint your nails with a base, then a colour and finish with a top coat, applying caviar before dry.)
I looked at my nails and thought maybe if I added a top coat it would help to seal in the beads.
Wow, was I wrong! DO NOT DO IT!
Instead of it helping preserve my mani, it instead made all the colours run!
So I re-did the manicure with no final top coat!

I really liked how it turned out! I didn't want to do a whole hand, in case they fell off instantly!

I was going to post this last night, but decided it would be better to wait to see how it would last over night.
My left hand has stayed pretty intact, a few beads here and there are missing, but its not noticeable.
My right hand however, faded in colour and has quite a few beads missing!

Overall I would say I like the caviar look, but its not very practical! If you are wanting to wear it for more than a day think again!

I bought a new jumper!

I bought a new jumper!

Today I went shopping with my mum in bond and bought myself a jumper!
I love it and it inspired me for my first attempt at a gradient nail!

I think it went pretty well!

Took some photos of me wearing my new jumper! (you can kinda see my nails..)

Loved how simple and effective gradients are! Definitely going to have to do some more.

It came out really blue in this picture for some reason!

I had this ready to post yesterday, but it was snowing!! And well, playing in the snow got in the way...
Hope everyone's having a good February!
